Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was a force to reckon with in season 2. The main focus revolved around Chloe Bennet’s character Skye (who will be known as Daisy Johnson in season 3), and her transformation into the Inhuman Quake. The answers about her family Skye had been searching for since the first episode of the series were also answered. Director Coulson’s team divided when Bobbi Morse and Alphonso ‘Mack’ Mackenzie worked with Robert Gonzalez to find out the secrets he was keeping. Science duo FitzSimmons started the season on complex terms but ended it super close to going on a date, that is until a Kree relic captured Simmons. Ward fell in love with Kara/Agent 33 and revived Hydra after she was killed.

In season 3 we can expect further exploration to the Inhumans and what will become of masses of people due to Terrigenesis. We will watch Skye/Daisy Johnson/Quake put together the Secret Warriors and battle new villains such as Lash and Rosalind Price.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 premieres on September 29 on ABC. Check your local affiliate for listings.

Arrowarrow s4

Arrow’s third season opened with the apparent death of The Black Canary which set in motion Laurel Lance and Oliver Queen to find the killer. In an attempt to make amends with his debt to The League of Assassins, Malcolm Merlyn, using Thea as his protégé and pawn instructed her to kill Sara. Oliver accepts Ra’s al Ghul’s offer to become head of the League when Thea is dying so he could revive her with the Lazarus Pit. Oliver eventually kills Ra’s al Ghul who had planned to poison Starling City (Star City).

Arrow’s fourth season is expected to focus around Oliver and Felicity’s relationship, set-up DC and The CW’s new spin-off Legends of Tomorrow. The villain of the season, Damien Darhk will also be a main factor in Oliver coming out of his Green Arrow retirement.

Gotham

Gotham s2Gotham’s first season takes a look at the beginnings of Bruce Wayne and explores Jim Gordon’s career before he would later become Commissioner. The season leans heavily on the warring mobs and the origin stories the high levels of violence create in Gotham. Fish Mooney played by Jada Pinkett-Smith, and mobsters Don Carmine Falcone, and Don Salvatore Maroni all battle for supremacy while Oswold Cobblepot switches allegiance and dupes nearly everyone he works with. As Gordon investigates the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents, he is introduced to the criminal empires operating the city of Gotham, uncovering such crimes as a child-trafficking ring that includes Selina Kyle.

Gotham’s second season is expected to continue growing the rogue’s gallery, a potential team-up between Gordon and Cobblepot, and the havoc that ensues from Jerome, who may or may not be The Joker.

Gotham season 2 airs on September 21 on Fox. Check your local affiliate for listings.

Barry Allen’s mother is killed under mysterious circumstances and his father is blamed for her murder. Barry makes it his goal to clear his father’s name and becomes a forensic investigator with the police. A massive explosion at S.T.A.R. labs puts Barry in a coma but he’s gifted with super speed. When he wakes up he becomes The Flash.

Working with Dr. Harrison Wells, Cisco, and Caitlyn from S.T.A.R. labs, Barry tracks down other “Metahumans” who were also given powers by the explosion and are using them for evil. Plagued by his nemesis the Reverse Flash, Barry learns that it was actually Dr. Wells all along. It turns out that Dr. Wells was actually Eobard Thawne, an enemy of The Flash’s from the future. Their conflict culminated in an opportunity for Barry to go back in time to save his mother, and he tries, but she convinces him not to and instead they just say goodbye. Eobard is convinced he has won, but his ancestor Eddie Thawne who ‘never did anything of note’ kills himself, thereby erasing Eobard from history and thus saving the day.

In season 2 we can expect further exploration of Barry and Iris’ relationship, a deeper look at time travel (as the metallic winged helmet that flew through the time portal was a clue to a potential new character) and its affect on the present, and whether or not past decisions come back to haunt Barry and his friends.

The Flash returns for season 2 on The CW on October 6. Check your local affiliate for listings.
