D&D announces its new storyline, Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into AvernusMay 17, 2019
This weekend, at an exclusive fan event, Dungeons and Dragons announced its next storyline: Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus, and from the early sneak peek provided to the media, it looks like it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
The adventure is set in the iconic city of Baldur’s Gate, which for many fans who grew up in the mid-90s, was the heart of many amazing adventures in the video game franchise of the same name, and then descends (are you sensing a theme?) into the first layer of the nine hells.
The heroes will need to work together to determine if the world can, or even should, be saved.
Written by Dungeons and Dragons luminary Chris Perkins, Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus will take players from level 1 to level 13, and on a quest that will determine the fate of good, and evil, alike.
Fans will see the underbelly of Baldur’s Gate as the city comes under the sway of corrupt powers and dark gods.
Will fans see some of the famous characters from the game in Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus? Possibly, but the team was VERY tight-lipped, not wanting to ruin the surprise.
Suffice it to say, with Baldur’s Gate: Descent Into Avernus set to release on September 17th, we have only one piece of advice: GO FOR THE EYES!
