New Images from Star Trek: The Video Game
February 13, 2013Set to be released April 23rd in North America and April 26th in the U.K., Star Trek is a third person, single-player action/adventure game with cooperative elements, allowing two people to control Kirk and Spock. The game is being developed by Digital Extremes and co-published by Nacmo Bandai Games and Paramount Digital Entertainment and will be released on PC, XBox 360 and Playstation 3. The developers secured the likeness of the bridge crew from the re-imagined 2009 film Star Trek film and also confirmed in June of 2012 that all of the actors and actresses would be lending their voices to the game as well.
As revealed at the 2012 E3 Convention, the antagonist of the game will be the Gorn. Trekkies will recall that the Gorn first made their appearance in the episode of Star Trek entitled “Arena” that originally aired January 19th, 1967.
Gameplay will take players to both familiar locations on the USS Enterprise such as the bridge and transporter, as well as undiscovered parts of the ship such as the observation lounge and officer’s quarters.
But, wherever the battles take place, I somehow think that they won’t include the bamboo cannon, simply because that myth has been BUSTED… check out the photos below for a first look at the Star Trek video game! (Images courtesy of superherohype.com )
