World Premiere Preacher Trailer

by on November 2, 2015

During last night’s episode of The Walking Dead, fans finally got the chance to see the world premiere of AMC’s Preacher trailer.

It offered very little insight to the show beyond setting the tone and briefly introduced the main cast other than the titular Preacher himself, Jesse Custer who, unsurprisingly, was the primary focus of the trailer.

It showed Custer as someone with a past; a chap who doesn’t necessarily fit the stereotypical mold of a holy man. Is his dialogue with the child real? Is he willing to hurt the boy’s father? Or is he trying to dissuade the child from pursuing such a course of action?

The trailer offers no definitive answers and thus it’s impossible to say for sure who the Jesse Custer in this Preacher adaptation will be.

Dominic Cooper, a classically handsome leading man, sports a scruffy beard, that obscures his good looks.

It’s interesting, it’s almost as though the showrunners are hiding his charisma behind a mask, which is an apt interpretation given the powers Custer possesses in the comic.

The trailer also introduces Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy and Ruth Negga as Tulip, but neither of them do much in this short trailer that’s meant to introduce Custer, more than anything.

Enough about what I think: watch it for yourself and see what YOU think.

Preacher premieres in 2016 on AMC.
