Our Flag Means Death Cancelled
January 10, 2024Max has made cult-favourite Our Flag Means Death walk the plank – according to the Hollywood Reporter, the second season will be the show’s last.
Our Flag Means Death followed the misadventures of Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) a gentleman-of-leisure who traded in his comfortable life for a pirate’s one; he wasn’t well-suited for the job, but gosh he tried hard and had a can-do attitude.
He and his misfits aboard his ship the Revenge crossed paths with legendary pirate Blackbeard and mayhem (and some lovin’) ensued.
The show was “praised for its LGBTQ+ representation” which likely kept it afloat for its second season renewal, but the show couldn’t stem the tide of cancellation.
The show continues to stream on Max as of this writing.
