Meet Your New Avengers: The A-Force
February 6, 2015Marvel Comics wasn’t kidding when they said there would be big changes to the Marvel Universe this spring. In the new Secret Wars coming this May, one of the big additions is the first ever all-female Avengers team, A-Force.
The new comic will be co-written by G. Willow Wilson (the recent Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel) and Marguerite Bennett (Angela standalone). X-Men artist Jorge Molina will be joining forces to illustrate the new team.
While we can be sure to expect all of our favorites like She-Hulk, Storm, Jean Grey, Dazzler, a new female superhero named Singularity is being added to the mix.
“They’ll all have to come together to answer some big questions: what would you sacrifice to succeed? What is being a hero worth?” Wilson penned in a statement released with the announcement.
While the comic will be the first all-female Avengers team, it will be the fifteenth all-female team in the Marvel Universe. Secret Wars is including all of the different Marvel realities during the years, and it is evident in the costume choices for the characters on the distributed images. She-Hulk is in her 1980’s costume while there is also Spider-Gwen and Black Widow in their more recent depictions.
What do you think will be bringing the all-new A-Force together in Secret Wars?
