HBO Has Hilarious Response to ‘Game of Thrones’ Coffee Cup Blunder

HBO made fun of itself after viewers spotted a very familiar looking and modern-day coffee cup in last night’s episode.

“The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea,” the company stated in a press release on Monday.

For about two seconds in Sunday’s “The Last of the Starks,” a takeout coffee cup appeared on a table in front of Daenerys Targaryen. Based on the size and shape, many fans assumed it was a Starbucks cup, and the hashtag #Starkbucks trended on Twitter after the episode. The big blunder occurs around the 17: 40-minute mark of the episode.
