Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition 100% Sold Out!

Nothing pre-war can stay.

Apparently gamers are pretty excited about the collectors edition of Fallout 4, and something interesting happened because of that.

During an interview by Gamespot with Pete Hines VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda, he mentioned that factories can no longer make the items contained in the Pip-Boy Edition.

“We reached a point where we’d go back to the factories and they were like, ‘guys, this is it, sorry. This is as long as we can run the lines and as many of them as we can make.'”

“They’re being made today, it’s not like they’re done and sitting in a warehouse. [The factories would tell us,] this is what the yields say. I mean, we don’t make [the Pip-Boy Editions], and we’d go back to [the factories] and say, ‘Demand for this is insane, we’ve got to make more.’ And they’d move other projects off or shift stuff to other factories and it just came to [them telling Bethesda], ‘Final answer: sorry, this is as many as we can make.’ And we sold every single one of those that we could.”

Usually when there is such high demand for a special edition or collectors item with a video game release, the companies will ask for more to be produced, but doesn’t look like it this time. So if you were one of the lucky few that was able to get one in time, count your bottle caps and enjoy your now “Limited Edition” of Fallout 4.

For those who didn’t get a chance to get the Pip-Boy Edition, you can still get the game when it comes out on release on November 10th, 2015.
