A First Look into Preacher Dropping on May 22

Preacher is the next comic book television show gracing our screens. Taking its first breaths on May 22 on AMC, the show follows the story of Jesse Custer, a preacher who is inhabited by a strange entity that gives him unusual power. Set in West Texas, Jesse, who is played by Captain America/Agent Carter alum Dominic Cooper, is joined by fellow Marvel actor Ruth Nega, who plays his ex-girlfriend Tulip O’Hare. The trio is made with the character Cassidy, an Irish vagabond played by Joseph Gilgun.

 

The show was developed by Seth Rogen (yes, that Seth Rogen) and Evan Goldberg (Breaking Bad).

The cast and creators shed more light on the supernatural occurrences in the town of Annville and what fans and future fanatics can expect from the new series.

The supporting cast includes Lucy Griffiths as Emily, Anatol Yusef as DeBlanc, Tom Brooke as Fiore, W. Earl Brown as Sherriff Root, Ian Colletti as Eugene/Arseface, and Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenck.

 

Preacher is a comic created by writer Garth Ennis for DC’s imprint Vertigo. The series consist of 75 issues in total. Steve Dillon and Glenn Fabry contributed art as Matt Hollingsworth and Pamela Rambo filled in the lines as colorists.
