Woodbridge Heroes 3rd Annual Charity Drive

Exotic cars, cosplayers and of course, comic books! It was Woodbridge Heroes 3rd annual charity drive and we were there to catch the action!

Most of that action happened around 1PM when a torrential downpour took us all by surprise and sent us scattering for shelter (and some of us into the rain for some great photos–see below), but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits!

Woodbridge Heroes is located just north of Toronto on Highway 7 and it is the only comic store of it’s kind that I’ve ever seen. What makes it so unique? They’re also a small exotic zoo! They have a six foot alligator, two lemurs and even an albino kangaroo within their large, two floor shop that kids can visit while they shop for comics, action figures and other collectibles. They even have a Bumblebee Camaro from the Transformers film by the cash out and a huge mural depicting superheroes like Wonder Woman and Superman on the ceiling. It’s a pretty incredible place!

This weekend, people came out to meet UFC fighters Chris “The Menace” Clements, Mark “The Machine” Hominick (now retired), and Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks–who will be fighting Georges St-Pierre at UFC 167. They also came for the car show (which featured my dream car, a black Lambourghini MurciĆ©lago), the BBQ and the kids came to get some comics and their photos taken with cosplayers like Arkham Batman and Robin, Poison Ivy, Wonder Woman and Hawkman.

This year they were raising money for The Canadian Diabetes Association and the Vaughn Food Bank and we were happy we got to be a part of it, despite the weather! Take a look below to see our photos from the event courtesy of Marc Daniel Delledonne of Marc Daniel Photography.
