The Guardians of the Galaxy Meet the Avengers in Season 2

The Guardians prepare for battle on Peter Quill’s home planet of Earth in the hour-long premiere of the animated series Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Joined by the Avengers, the first two episodes in the second season drop on Saturday, March 11 at 9pm EST on Disney XD.

The two episodes, “Stayin’ Alive” and “Evolution Rock” will also be available on Disney XD VoD and the Disney XD app available on an array of devices. The first episode, “Stayin’ Alive” follows the ragtag Guardians team comprised of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot as they try to locate Thanos’ asteroid located at an Avengers facility. The following episode, “Evolution Rock” centers around the Guardians and Avengers teaming up to explore the secrets of the asteroid.

Season two of the series will focus on the Guardians and the Avengers as they work to save the Earth from a mad scientist called the High Evolutionary. In the midst of their work, they accidentally unleash an ancient and powerful weapon.

Prior to the premiere of season two of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, six brand-new short animations will debut on multiple Disney XD channels and devices. These animated shorts start on February 27 and will intermittingly be posted until March 4. These shorts show just what happens when the Guardians try to cram the Milano with loads of souvenirs from Earth.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series stars Will Friedle (“Boy Meets World”) as the leader Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Trevor Devall (“Johnny Test”) as the tough-talking Rocket Raccoon, Vanessa Marshall (“Star Wars Rebels”) as the warrior Gamora, David Sobolov (“Transformers: Prime”) as the rough-edged Drax the Destroyer, and Kevin Michael Richardson (“The Cleveland Show”) as tree-like humanoid Groot.
