∴ If Sectumsemper sounds familiar it is because it is a derivative of the Harry Potter slashing spell sectumsempra. However, Clevosaurus sectumsemper is the name given to a new lizard fossil found in England this past week. The name choice is no coincidence given the nature of the spell was to cut, and this ancient lizard had self-sharpening teeth. Yikes.
∴ While Ghost in the Shell is becoming a film, Ghost in the Shell: Arise is getting the stage treatment. Arise is the latest installment in the anime series, and is being adapted for the Tokyo Geijutsu Gekijō Playhouse to run November 5-15.
∴ Want to become Tony Stark? Well, you may not become him, but Disney’s latest video game/toy venture is called Playmation, and it will have you being ‘sent out’ for missions by Jarvis. The plastic red and gold gauntlet allows the user to partake in physical play for the digital generation. It will be unleashed just in time for the holiday season in October and retail for about $120.

∴ Netflix is amping its animated game by adding four new titles. Swinging into the video-streaming giant is Tarzan and Jane, Kulipari: An Army of Frogs, Puffin Rock, and Cirque du Soleil – Luna Petunia. These new series will premiere throughout this year and next.
∴ On the vein of streaming services, GameFly plans on getting a slice of the action. Why yes, video games, streaming like you can stream TV and movies on Netflix. Working like the DVD rental portion, you’ll be able to rent bundles of games for $6.99 a month. Users wanting more can spring for the $9.99 option and chose from 16 different titles.
∴ For a moment in time Hot Topic was all set to purchase nerd merchandiser ThinkGeek. However, Hot Topic got the rug pulled out from them last minute, when GameStop swooped in to acquire the company. And guess what else? ThinkGeek is already being used in their site-crash page.
∴ Mega Man is back. Read it again. Planned as 26 episodes, Mega Man is being given a new life from the creative hands of Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau and Steven T. Seagle. Collectively known as Man of Action. However, don’t expect Mega Man to show up so soon, the new project looks like it won’t be coming out until 2017. Still… new Mega Man!!
