Snakes & Lagers: A Board Game Bar

Booze and board games? What a brilliant idea!

In Toronto, there’s a cafe called Snakes and Lattes. It’s a place where you can go to get a sandwich, a hot caffeinated beverage, and challenge your friends to the Game of Life. The cafe, located at 600 Bloor Street, has more than 3,000 board games for you to choose from with a low cover fee of only $5.00 per person. They also employ ‘Game Gurus’, people who know more than anyone should about hundreds of board games rules and regulations. They can even suggest a game for you in case your group can’t decide what to play.

Now, the owners have expanded their horizons to include Snakes and Lagers, an upcoming board game bar. Located at 488 College Street, the bar will employ the same ideals as the cafe; a $5 surcharge and over 3,000 board games to choose from, only this time they’ll cater to a 19+ crowd only and will serve craft beers and light bar snacks. Oh, and the Game Gurus will be there too to play referee in your ruling questions.

The opening date for the bar is February 1st.

Now you and your friends will have a place to drink and play Risk other than the dining room table!
