Matt Groening To Create New Series For Netflix

As the Simpsons continues to grace our televisions for the 27th year, Groening will be shifting from cable to the digital landscape. Netflix has had a large success with producing animated series for their digital service and it seems to be getting bigger every year. With successes such as Bojack Horseman and F is for Family, it is no wonder that the creator of The Simpsons, Futurama and The Critic (remember the critic? no? that’s ok) has decided to sign on and create his own show to be available via Netflix.

There is not too much information floating around regarding this new project, but what we do know is that Groening will be writing and creating the show… and that’s about it.

All we can hope for though is that he takes a page from the Futurama book and creates a wonderful series full of heart and comedy that will last the test of time. I still get choked up when Fry’s dog waits… and waits…

Once we get some more information about this new series we will post it here, but it will be great to see more original content hit the digital shelves.
