Leonard Nimoy to Join Ottawa Comic Con via Skype

Ottawa Comic Con announces an opportunity for fans to participate in a Q&A with the legendary actor.

The Emmy award nominated and sci-fi icon, Leonard Nimoy, will participate in a Q&A with fans that are attending Ottawa Comic Con on May 10th. This is an incredibly rare opportunity as Nimoy no longer attends conventions. In early February, the actor announced that he had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and took to his Twitter account to urge his fans to quit smoking. Below is the official press release by Ottawa Comic Con about the event:

Leonard Nimoy Live via Skype at Ottawa Comiccon!

While it is true that Leonard Nimoy has retired from traveling to conventions, we are thrilled to announce that Mr. Nimoy will be making a very rare convention appearance via Skype at Ottawa Comiccon. He will be joining us for a special Q&A session on Saturday, May 10 and will be taking questions directly from our audience members! Mr. Nimoy has agreed to sign a very limited number of autographs for us privately, prior to the event.

The Skype special event will have priority and guaranteed seating to VIP pass-holders for those that purchase the Nimoy-autograph ticket, but will be open to all OCC ticket holders that include Saturday entry. The Nimoy-autograph ticket will be available for pre-sale on our website in a few days.

Ottawa Comic Con will be May 9 to 11 at the EY Centre. You can purchase tickets online here for the event.
