Harrison Ford in Stable Condition Following Plane Crash
March 5, 2015TMZ is reporting that Star Wars actor Harrison Ford has been involved in a plane crash. The plane, a vintage World War II training plane, has crashed at Penmar golf course in Venice California. The actor, an avid flyer of planes and helicopters, was conscious and breathing, but suffered some injuries primarily to his head.
Two doctors that were at the golf course at the time of the accident treated Ford for multiple head wounds until emergency personnel arrived on the scene of the downed plane and transported Ford to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Recently, Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Officer Nuria Vanegas made a statement about the accident.
“We can confirm that there was a plane crash and the male occupant was a 65-70 years old man. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.”
Officer Vanegas went on to add that the incident was reported at 2:25p.m. and it was a mechanical failure in the plane that caused the accident.
The 72-year old actor is not a stranger to plane crashes; he was also involved in the crash of a Bell chopper in 1999 in Santa Clara, California.
