[1] Our editor-in-chief had Star Trek: Into Darkness as her top pick, so we gave this the nod over Man of Steel.
Loved all three choices. My picks would be:
1. Man of Steel. Blown away by all the action. Don’t understand how anyone could complain about it. Thought the interplay between the characters was well written and acted. Especially Superman/Zod and Lois/Jor-El. It gets better with every watch.
2. Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Love Jackson’s imagining of Tolkien’s world and will gladly spent as much time in there as they’ll allow.
3. Pacific Rim. Sure it was cliche with some cheesy dialogue but it didn’t matter. Not with all those pretty giant robots fighting the giant monsters.
