First Trailer for Hercules Starring Dwayne Johnson

“The tone is a nice even balance of ‘Gladiator,’ of ‘300,’ and there’s also personality in the movie and there’s fun,” Johnson said when asked how serious the movie would be.

In an interview with ComingSoon.net, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed more about Hercules, how they decided to bring the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars by Radical Studios to life, as well as maintaining the secrecy of the character on set.

Having enduring his legendary twelve labors, Hercules, the Greek demigod, has his life as a sword-for-hire tested when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord.

Directed by Brett Ratner, Hercules will hit theatres July 25, 2014. Check out the trailer above and the first poster below.
