Becoming a Hero with Extra Life at Wizard World Philadelphia 2018
May 28, 2018Having raised more than $40 million in the ten years its been in motion, there’s no stopping Extra Life from changing the lives of kids at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. I met with Mike Torres, a representative for the organization at Wizard World Philadelphia. Mike, along with his team, were on hand to enlighten convention attendees on how their passion for playing games – video, table top, etc., – can make an impact. With 24 hour gaming marathons, support from the likes of Rooster Teeth and Reddit, the organization has more than 100,000 players who are dedicated to raising money and having a good time.
As posted on the Extra Life website, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® raise funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments each year to kids across the U.S. and Canada. Donations stay local to fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.
After listening to my chat with Mike, pop over to the Extra Life website and become a hero!
I’d like to thank Mike for chatting with us at the convention this year and Wizard World for inviting the GCE.
