Wizard World Returns to Philly This May
May 6, 2018The GCE will be attending our first Wizard World comic convention this year, and there’s no better place to take in the sights and sounds of what this convention has to offer than at Wizard World Philadelphia. The city, still brimming with energy off their big Super Bowl win, is ready to invite fans of a different kind to revel. Celebrating pop culture, movies, comics, cosplay and all the wonderful things that fly under the geek banner, the convention has set up another stellar year. The convention is in its 18th year at Philadelphia.
From May 17 – 20, fans can descend on the Pennsylvania Convention Center. There’s a long list of featured celebrity and entertainment guests. Photo opportunities and meet and greets for such guests as Sebastian Stan, Jason Momoa, Natalie Dormer, Elijah Wood, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Sean Bean, Stephan Amell, Sean Astin, Jewel Staite, Lucie Pohl and many more. The convention has also tapped some of the best comic and creative artists. Fans can meet Greg Capullo, Jim Steranko, Mike Grell, Samantha K Riley, Greg Horn, Lilian Oake, Jamie Miller, Kitty Geoghan and many other creators.
Up until May 10, attendees, artists and exhibitors can also submit pitches. Maatta, CEO of Wizard World. “We look forward to seeing a variety of submissions and see this as an important step in a broad-based relationship with Columbia Pictures as Wizard World furthers its lead role in the pop culture industry.” The submission form can be found at: https://wizardworld.com/2018-philadelphia-pitchfest.
