Melissa Benoist to play Supergirl
January 22, 2015It appears that CBS and Warner Bros. has found the cousin of the Man of Steel for its television series Supergirl. Joining DC Comics dominating TV presence along side Arrow, Flash, Gotham and Constantine.
It has been reported that Glee and Whiplash actress, Melissa Benoist has be chosen to play, Superman’s Kryptonian cousin, Kara Zor-El. Kara was born on Krypton but escape before its destruction, landed on Earth and was taken in by a foster family who taught her to control her out of this world powers. Sound familiar?
It sounds like this will be a lot like the CW series Smallville, but instead of showing all the awkward teen years of Kara, will jump to seeing Kara at the age of 24, still hiding her powers from the world until an unexpected event causes her to use her powers in public. She then begins to use her powers for good and helping save people in her city. Hopefully unlike Smallville we will see out hero in full techno-color outfit, flying around the city.
