Geeky Cool: X-Box Bullet Controllers
January 12, 2013What does it look like when X-Box meets steampunk? Bullet controllers, of course! Much cooler than any skin that you can buy in a store, artist Tyler Pool of Diesel Lace Designs over on Etsy has found an amazing way to combine the two things he loves into a must have for any X-Box gamer.
Each controller features the ABXY buttons replaced by real, fired 9mm bullets. You also have the option of choosing brass or nickel plating for the ABXY buttons. The d-pad has been replaced with a Remington 12 gauge shotgun shell (it should be noted that this is the new transforming direction pad that helps control your preference on button sensitivity) and everything is tested well by Tyler before it is sent to you to make sure everything works correctly.
Want to add something a little more unique than just the bullet buttons?
Tyler does that too. He offers custom paint jobs on controller shells that include front and back panels as well as battery packs. The shell is fully painted with any emblem, gamertag, or lettering, whatever you prefer. Tyler describes his painting process; “The painting is a lengthy multi-coat process that helps ensure quality. The lettering is NOT stenciled on or stickers. I use a masking vinyl set to give a crisp clean look as I add each layer of paint. I top off my layers with a glossy acrylic coat to help seal and protect the paint.”
