Chris Hemsworth as Doc Savage?

The Thor star has met with Shane Black to discuss the role.

Iron Man 3 director Shane Black is interested in bringing the character Doc Savage to life, and he thinks that actor Chris Hemsworth taking on the role would “not be a bad idea”.

Recently, Black met with Hemsworth to consider him for the role, but there is no word yet on whether or not the actor has been cast, or when the movie is set for release, but it could be some time as Black also recently signed on to write and direct the Predator reboot.

Doc Savage was a character originally published in the 1930s and 1940s and he has all kinds of incredible abilities on top of being a surgeon, adventurer, scientist, explorer, physician and inventor. From birth, Savage (real name Clark Savage Junior) was trained to near-superhuman abilities by his father and a team of scientists. He has a photographic memory, strength and endurance, as well as a mastery of martial arts. If that wasn’t enough, he has a crack team called “The Fabulous Five” that join him on adventures, all who are highly trained in different fields. There’s an industrial chemist, an electrical engineer, an archaeologist, an attorney and a construction engineer.
