Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye #39 Review

April 7, 2015 0 By EVA

In the wake of the Days of Deception story arc, Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye #39 kicks right into a divided Decepticon Transformersstory. The comic covers a fair amount of the fallout of the story arc and where the Decpeticons go in repercussion to Megatron’s actions in Days of Deception.

“RETURN OF THE D.J.D.! A punishment squad created by MEGATRON to hunt down dissidents, turncoats and cowards-no one believes more passionately in the DECEPTICON cause than the D.J.D. So what happens when they discover their founder has joined the Autobots? (Clue: it’s not pretty.)”

The comic will be released with a total of three different covers. There is an incentive variant that comic shops will get if they are ordering more than 10 copies of the issue, and a subscription based variant as well. All three covers keep a beautifully classic feel to the Transformers legacy and compliment the books artwork which is penciled wonderfully by artist Alex Milne. Writer James Roberts and Milne have a great dynamic together which will keep you pulled into this issue with both the story and the visually striking panels. The book does not fall short of keeping you invested in the true image of the Transformers that many of us have grown up with and love.

The story itself shows the struggle for the now divided Decepticons and presents a story which gives back history to the Decepticon way of life, their belief system and goals. Very much true any good villain nature, the outcome of this issue brings heated banter and of course, combat rivalry. What other way would you expect it to go? Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye #39 self-contains its own story advancement, leaving the reader ready to move forward with the next chapter in the storyline and direction of this book. In short form, your going to be anxious for more.
