Toshiro Mifune to Receive Star on Walk of FameAugust 27, 2015
The legendary Kurosawa-era actor is to be honoured with his own star on the walk of fame.
Toshiro Mifune is the first name that anyone generally thinks of when it comes to an actor playing a samurai, and his face constantly pops up in pop culture regarding the subject almost immediately. Mifune was in classics such as Seven Samurai, Rashomon, Yojimbo, and Sanjuro.
Mifune will be honored in 2016 with the star alongside other actors and directors such as Quentin Tarantino, Michael Keaton, Steve Carell, Bradley Cooper, Ashley Judd and Kurt Russell.
Mifune acted in a total of 16 movies directed by Akira Kurosawa, and has a total of 183 acting credits to his name from 1947 all the way through 1995.
