The X-Men are Evolving to a TV Screen Near You

Co-Chairman Dana Walden confirmed an X-Men TV series in the works at Fox. TVLine reports Fox is negotiating with Marvel to get the series off the ground as soon as possible. Fans expecting to see the X-Men appear on Agents of S.H.I.E.LD. will have to wait forever, sadly.

“The characters from the X-Men franchise are with Fox on the feature [films] side, so we won’t be including Marvel charcters that are at ABC with Disney.”

Until a deal is made with Marvel it will be unclear which X-Men will appear on the show or the plot the series will follow. Fox hasn’t had the most consistent track record with its licensed superheroes, but with the popularity of X-Men: Days of Future Past it might be the perfect time to expand the universe. I would love to see Fox take a stab at making the show because there are a lot of X-Men characters not featured in film, but for now we’ll have to wait and see.
