The Fantastic Four Rebooted

The Fantastic Four Rebooted

October 3, 2013 0 By EVA

With news that The Fantastic Four will be another film that will get the reboot treatment, we visit who we think should make up the iconic team.

If you enjoyed X-Men: First Class and are equally excited for X-Men: Days of Future Past, then get ready to be a little more optimistic. Announced yesterday, screenwriter Simon Kinberg has joined the Fox team to help make changes to the script of the Fantastic Four reboot as well as co-produce. Reports out of Hollywood state that Kinberg could be in for some major changes to Josh Trank’s script. Trank, for those of you that don’t know, was the writer of Chronicle (2012). This should leave Kinberg quite busy considering he is also working on Star Wars VII as a creative consultant, set for a 2015 release as well and in the pre-production stages.

With a release date of March 2015, it is expected that the script may need quite a bit of work before production can start. No word yet or any announcements on who may be cast in the Fantastic Four but we are all eagerly awaiting and watching the rumor mill work it’s magic across the internet with possible candidates.

I sat down today and thought about who I would like to see in the roles of the Fantastic Four. Here is a list of the actors and a little about their acting backgrounds. Drop a comment below and tell us whether you agree or disagree and what you may change or want to see in the Fantastic Four reboot.

Mr. Fantastic / Reed Richards
Anson Mount

The current star of AMC’s Hell on Wheels is the first selection we have for the team. Mount has a hardened grey look as well as a wonderfully chiseled jaw line to give him the Reed Richards look. Shave that beard and cut the hair and we have a Mr. Fantastic.

Invisible Woman / Susan Storm
Julie Benz

Julie can be found is such work as Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day, Dexter and currently, Defiance. With Julie working on mainly TV roles recently, it may be time to bring this seasoned and talented actress back to the big screen as Mr. Fantastic’s beautiful wife.

Human Torch / Johnny Storm
Ryan Kwanten

Since Johnny is the heartthrob and pretty boy of the team, we went with an easy choice for many True Blood fans. Backed by his already famous role of Jason Stackhouse, one can’t help but believe that Ryan would make a perfect fit for The Human Torch.

The Thing / Ben Grimm
Jeffrey Dean Morgan

He has the look and he has the voice. Morgan is currently one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors for a number of reasons. You can see some of his work in a variety of different roles including, but not limited to, Supernatural, The Watchmen, Grey’s Anatomy, and a number more of TV shows and films.

That rounds up my casting call for the Fantastic Four reboot. Be sure to check back as more updates are released from the studio and be sure to place comments on the casting call and what you think of the new reboot.
