A Look at Superman: Doomed

A Look at Superman: Doomed

Superman: Doomed kicked off with an explosive bang recently; the One Shot self-titled Doomed is beautifully written by Scott Lobdell while artwork by the talented Ken Lashley took the rack by storm.

The comic begins with an entirely new look at Doomsday and what powers seem to have manifested from the last time we saw him. He quickly puts Superman through the test of his life that has him facing the consequences through this entire story arc. It’s hard to say much more without spoiling anything.

Once you’ve made it through the one shot, you can look forward to the aftermath of this story making its way through various Superman titles. The first two parts of the storyline titled Infected have hit the rack at the same time, leaving the reader more than satisfied at having the ability to continue more of the story right away. Part one takes place in Action Comics, followed by part two in Superman & Wonder Woman. The story doesn’t stop there though as we will get more this month in the Superman title itself and then round out the story for the next two months in each of the titles again.

You can be sure that the Superman: Doomed blank variant released will be a hot seller for convention goers looking to have their own personal sketches done or artists that will pick them up to do their own art. The blank variant has been hard to track down and sold out in many shops already.

If you are like me and can’t wait for the graphic novel to get the whole story, the prelude and first few issues of the story are out there begging to be picked up from the shelves of your comic stores. For the Superman fan that has been screaming for a more solid story since H’el on Earth, this will not disappoint. Put down the Bat books for a minute and have a look at Superman: Doomed. The art alone is worth the attention.
