Batman Vs. Superman: Delayed Until 2016
January 18, 2014Some (maybe) good news for the upcoming Zack Snyder film was dropped this week.
Warner Bros. let fans know this week that the anticipated superhero film will be delayed until the summer of 2016 to compete with an unannounced Marvel film.
Another reason for this push back was to help the film “help fully realize the vision” AKA not have to compete in 2015 with new Pirates of the Caribbean and Star Wars movies that are also set to come out that summer. There is also a rumor that studios are in talks with Joaquin Phoenix to possibly play a villain in the new film, which after his recent success in Spike Jonze’s Her, will be a huge addition to the already packed cast.
The cast currently includes Henry Cavill, Batfleck, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
With how close everyone is watching this movie, there are hopes that it won’t destroy what we love about Batman and Superman and the storyline they are trying to tackle. As long as they take their time and don’t mess with the universe too much to make it “Hollywood” the film should do just fine… hopefully.
