Welcome to another week with On The Rack. First and foremost, how many times have you gone to see Guardians of the Galaxy? Not enough, right? Marvel keeps hitting home runs on the big screen, and if you’re an avid comic reader like we are at The GCE, then you’ll probably agree the fun doesn’t stop at the credits. We all get the joy of reading new stories and adventures with our favorite heroes and villains. Let’s have a look and see what’s going on in the world of comics this week.
Sons of Anarchy #12
With SOA coming back soon and trailers hitting the TV and Youtube, fans are anxious for the final season. This week we get to feed that hunger a little when issue 12 hits the stands.

“Batman’s quest for Damian’s body is about to take him further down the road to damnation than he’s ever gone before! His first stop: the Justice League’s Lex Luthor?!”
If you’re a Grant Morrison fan, you won’t want to miss this new series!

New 52 Futures End #16
Personally, I lost touch with this story, although it does seem to be piquing some interest for others. Who will be behind the mask of the Superman of the future?
“The threat behind StormWatch’s entire existence reveals itself!”

Steampunk Battlestar Galactica 1880 #1 (of 4)
This looks way to interesting to pass over just based on the title alone. I can’t even explain how cool this looks, wouldn’t you agree?
“Welcome to the world of Battlestar Galactica as never seen before, as #1 NYT Bestselling Author Tony Lee gives it a Steampunk spin! After Professor Baltar’s clockwork Cylonics destroy the Colonial Empire, Arch Duke Adama learns that his son Apollo is missing!
It’s up to Lady Athena to travel to the Sky Pirate world of the Rising Star and ask for help from the only hope she has – the disgraced Captain Starbuck and his humanoid / Daggit copilot Muffit…”
Judge Dredd #22
Wouldn’t be a complete comic week without a little Dredd in our lives. Can’t we just get a sequel already?
“‘Black Light District, part 1’-The area formerly known as Sector One has been sealed off from the rest of Mega-City One-locking the Dark Judges in, but also keeping most of the Justice Department out!
The only man who can cross the border is Judge Dredd, so it’s up to him to single-handedly rescue the Chief Justice and the Council of Five, who are trapped inside and fighting for their survival. Meanwhile, there’s a new Acting Chief Justice, and he’s got a whole lot of ‘reform’ in mind…
You’ve never seen Mega-City One like this before. Step inside before it’s too late…”
Manifest Destiny #9
“Lewis’ newest specimens aren’t the only things threatening to kill the expedition…”
Savage Dragon #197
In case you haven’t noticed, Erik Larson is still running strong on his Savage Dragon series. We are coming close to milestone issue #200 so you may want to jump in now and get hooked on one of the original Image titles.
“Malcolm Dragon is transformed into a hideous freak as he faces his greatest menace yet-a deadly virus that turns average people into mindless monsters! Get ready for a whole new Savage Dragon!”
One of Marvel‘s classic characters continues this week with another issue. Do we have any readers out there enjoying where this series is going with the man without fear?
“ORIGINAL SIN TIE-IN! The man without fear braves the wilds of Wakanda! And the truth behind Matt’s mother’s greatest sin is finally revealed.”
“MAGNETO was once arguably the most powerful mutant on the planet. But after his latest tenure with the X-Men, his powers have been reduced to a whisper of what they once were.
Maddened by the fact that he struggles to safeguard mutantkind in uncertain times yet his own mutant gift wavers, to what lengths will Magneto go to become the Master of Magnetism once more?”
Want some more Rocket Raccoon? This week Nova has the little badass making an appearance.

Wolverine Annual #1
Wolvie’s death is coming closer and closer. Do you think they will keep him dead? How many of you have standing bets on the length of his death? either way, his annual issue comes out this week with more story around the One Month to Die.
“ONE MONTH TO DIE!
A little Father/Adoptive Daughter/Adoptive Daughter’s son time. Now that’s a mouthful. Wolverine and Jubilee take Shogo on a camping trip. Hey, it’s a Wolverine story in the middle of the wilderness. What could go wrong?”
