Paul Bettany Cast as The Vision!
February 7, 2014J.A.R.V.I.S. may become more than just a voice in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Reports flooded the internet early this morning of news that Paul Bettany had been cast as The Vision in the upcoming Marvel film, Avengers: Age of Ultron, slated for a May 1, 2015 release. The Daily Mail first made the announcement, saying,
Bettany and Jeremy Renner, who plays ace archer Hawkeye, were at Shepperton Studios just outside London this week, meeting with director Joss Whedon. They did a series of costume, hair and make-up tests and worked with stuntmen and armourers.
The Vision first made his comic appearance in the 1940s, created to be used as a weapon against the Avengers by Ultron (James Spader will be playing him in the film), but became a member of the Avengers in the 1960s after turning the tables on the villain to become a good guy. Speculation now is that Ultron will somehow get a hold of J.A.R.V.I.S. and create The Vision in the new film.
Will we see the marriage of the android Vision to Scarlett Witch like in the comics? Probably not in Age of Ultron, but I’m sure we might see some kind of romancing going on.
