Nerdiest Super Bowl Trailers 2018

Nerdiest Super Bowl Trailers 2018

February 4, 2018 0 By EVA

Eagles, Patriots… what I’m really here for are the trailers (and the food). Super Bowl LII (2018) did not disappoint.

The first trailer to emerge during the pre-game ceremonies belonged to horror genre darling helmed by husband and wife duo John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. It’s the second official trailer for the movie. Fun fact: some of the movie was filmed in my college town – New Paltz, in the Hudson Valley, NY. The film will be released on April 6, 2018.

The next movie trailer to pique my interest was the new trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World comes out on June 22, 2018.

So, I pretty much missed this next trailer due to being glued to my laptop screen. But, Youtube has my back. This is a teaser trailer for the hotly controversial Star Wars one-off film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Han Solo is played by Alden Ehrenreich and is joined by Emilia Clarke, Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), Paul Bettany, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson and Warwick Davis. It will be in theaters on May 25, 2018. The full trailer drops tomorrow, February 5, 2018.

HULU came to the party with its own trailer for the Stephen King and J.J. Abrams horror-series, Castle Rock. The trailer had previously dropped but it is notable that it was included in the Super Bowl lineup. The 10-episode series will premiere sometime this summer.

Tom Cruise is back with a new Mission Impossible. Which one are we up to? This addition to the series is called Mission Impossible: Fallout. Honestly I know next to nothing about the series except that Tom Cruise does crazy stunts and there’s a billion of the movies now. This one comes out July 27, 2018.

Castle Rock wasn’t J.J. Abrams only entry to Super Bowl ads. Netflix has the follow-up to his two Cloverfield films with Cloverfield Paradox. No word as to when it’s coming out except for soon, but we spied Idris Elba and Daniel Bruhl in the cast. Internet consensus says it will be on Netflix tonight after the game.

We just got a glimpse of the second season of Westworld, premiering in April on HBO. I really enjoyed the first season and the second season needs to come soon to fill the Game of Thrones gap.

This is really an advertisement for Lexus, but we’re still hyped for Black Panther. February 16. You know this.

Avengers: Infinity War is my life, and of course I was happy to see its newest trailer with the Super Bowl. May 4, please get here sooner. Someone please buy me a shock blanket for this one. Thank you, Marvel!
