Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have joined up with champion race team Hendrick Motorsports to bring key members of the Justice League to the racetrack in hopes to bring in a younger crowd who only supply 10% of the fan base for Nascar. The three year deal will showcase around drivers Kasey Kahne, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. both on and off the track with such heroes as Superman, Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern.

[blockquote]”We are excited to partner on a long-term program that brings together Hendrick Motorsports’ super hero drivers with the Super Heroes of DC Comics. This partnership will allow us to offer NASCAR and DC Comics fans unique experiences that tap into the storylines of our characters and the successes of these four world-class athletes,” said Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products.[/blockquote]

Not only will we see the heroes be included into the paint schemes of the cars, but original comics will be created featuring both Hendrick Motorsports and the Justice League.

“Working with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Entertainment will make for an innovative and impactful partnership, adding value to sponsor relationships, developing an even stronger retail licensing platform and engaging with young people are high priorities for us. This collaboration will generate many opportunities in those areas.” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports.

Our very first look at the first car to be featured on track will be May 25th when Dale Earnhardt Jr gets his #88 Chevrolet SS made over with none other than the Man of Steel, Superman. We will see him paired up on the car with the US Army National Guard as Superman’s Hall of Heroes, an online site which allows people to honour their own personal heroes. You can check out the car in a photo tweeted out earlier today by Earnhardt Junior below:
