Namco Bandai Opens New Studio In Vancouver

Namco Bandai has opened a new studio in Vancouver, BC and is ready to start publishing mobile and social games.
The giant that is responsible for massive hits such as Tekken and Pac Man is excited to get to work with the large amount of digital artists available to work with them. Namco Bandai Studios president Hajime Nakatani has said that “The market is quite big in North America — there is room to grow for us”, which is very exciting news for game development in Canada and the opportunities it can bring.
Namco Bandai has signed a two year lease at the new Centre for Digital Media office on Great Northern Way in Vancouver and will be hiring close to 30 people to help develop the new games.
Namco Bandai has also seen recent success in game sales in Canada with their new RPG Tales of Xillia. The pre-order for the game sold out in less than 24 hours (over 10,ooo copies), with subsequent pre-orders opening up and also selling out on Amazon.ca and other Canadian online retailers.
