Mircosoft to Reveal New Xbox May 21

“A New Generation Revealed…”

Today, the Microsoft Corporation revealed it is planning a special ‘Xbox-themed event’ at its main headquarters in Redmond, Washington on May 21. The event will be streamed on Xbox LIVE and Xbox.com as well as broadcast on the Spike TV network in the US and Canada and will begin at 10am PST. Following the formal launch, Xbox has said it will showcase the systems full games lineup at this years Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) conference in Los Angeles taking place June 11 through the 13.

Some think that Xbox will have the console for sale shortly before this holiday season in order to compete with the Playstation 4 which is set to hit shelves around the same time. Microsoft and Sony’s updated consoles will hopefully give a much-needed boost to the console gaming industry; console sales dropped 32% in 2012 and they have struggled to maintain sales not only on the consoles but on the games, most customers having begun to use online or mobile gaming as their preferred choice.

Many are wondering if Microsoft will reveal the product image design of the new Xbox on May 21, as the unveiling of the Playstation 4 left much to be desired, or if they too will wait until E3 for the unveiling of the console design.
