Deadpool Test Footage Officially Released by Blur Studios
July 29, 2014For the past two days, Deadpool test footage has been cropping up on YouTube channels and then being very quickly removed due to it being protected property. Now, the test footage starring a CG Deadpool voiced by Ryan Reynolds has been officially released by Blur Studios.
This is the same footage that began making headlines two years ago when Rob Liefeld (creator of Deadpool) told Arizona Comic-Con that he ‘may or may not have’ seen eight minutes worth of test footage. As transcribed by BleedingCool Liefeld said,
[blockquote]”I may or may have not seen some sort of test of footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go holy crap and that’s Deadpool in costume. Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh. And I may or may not have seen something that looks just like that. And you’ve got what would amount to the first R Rated X-Men movie. Because that script is R Rated.”[/blockquote]
Does the official release of the test footage mean that the studio may be seeking out what consumers think before taking the leap into finally making the film that so many Deadpool fans have wanted for years?
This test footage shows Deadpool how he should be; lewd and crude, all while decapitating people and crashing cars. A two hour film of the ‘Pool might be too much for some people to handle, but for fans it could be just right, and enough to forget about that Origins abomination that we can all agree WAS NEVER MADE. Just pretend like it didn’t happen. It’s easier.
Nice to finally be able to see what is on the note DP holds up before the Escalade rolls the final time.
