DC Reveals New Variant Cover Theme

DC Comics has revealed the theme they are taking with the next group of variant covers for this coming November.

The comics will be recognizing the fall release of Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham which is the latest installment in the bestselling Lego Batman video game series. During November, select DC titles on sale will feature Lego themed covers, and will spotlight Lego versions of characters found in the game. This is the latest announcement in a year of monthly themed variant covers for DC, and the second theme tied to a video game.

DC Comics kicked off the year with Scribblenauts in January, followed by Steampunk in February, while March saw Robot Chicken covers based on the Adult Swim show. April celebrated Alfred E. Neuman’s birthday with MAD themed covers, May brought a selection of variants by artist Mike Allred done in the groovy style of Batman ’66, while June went retro with Bombshell covers based on the popular DC Collectibles line. In honor of the caped crusaders 75th anniversary, Batman took center stage in July with Batman 75 variant covers andf this month celebrates the “selfie photo” with Selfie variant covers. September jumps to the future with Futures End 3-D motion covers, and just in time for Halloween, October sees Monster variants.
