Creator Spotlight: Angel Onofre
August 30, 2014Con season is in full swing and creators, movie stars and pop culture icons are gathering around the world to meet and greet their swarms of fans. In this crush of fame, the little guys can often be forgotten. Most of these comic conventions feature large Artist Alleys that allow small, lesser-known creators to show off their wares, sell their product and talk to new fans. The goal of this feature over the next week or so is to shine a spotlight on the little guys; to show you what comic con is really about; people being excited about new and original creations.
The first featured creator in this series is Angel Onofre. I met Angel at Wizard World Chicago, and was immediately drawn in by his atypical art style. To quote the bio on his website, Angel “…spends most of his free time doodling horrific creatures and trying to figure out how many eyeballs and tentacles he can add to a character before running out of space.” He does not disappoint. His renditions of pop culture icons are in a style you’ve most likely never seen before, and are genuinely fun to gaze at. Be sure to check out his website, and follow him on social media, all listed below.
