Avengers: Age of Ultron Set Photos

Filming began over the weekend in Italy.

Avengers: Age of Ultron began filming over this past weekend in Aosta and the first set images have arrived via Comingsoon.net and Getty Images, as well as Gigi Iorio / Splash News. In the photos we can see Jeremy Renner reprising his role as Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, possibly in the heat of battle with a character who could be Ultron himself.

In an earlier interview, director Joss Whedon described Ultron as a perfect villain for the Avengers: “He’s got a bee in his bonnet, he’s always trying to destroy the Avengers! He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain.”

The film will be released on May 1st, 2015.
