Talking Catwoman with Lee Meriwether at Eternal Con
July 6, 2017Lee Meriwether’s career spans more than 50 years. She’s been Miss America, Catwoman and appeared on the long-running soap opera All My Children.
Ms. Meriwether trekked out to Long Island, NY on July 1 and 2 to grace the masses in attendance for the fifth-annual Eternal Con. Signing autographs and taking pictures with fans, she was mostly perched next to the iconic 1966 Batmobile. On Sunday of the event, Ms. Meriwether took to the stage with an effervescence not seen among many celebrities. Her face lit up each time she regaled a story from one of her sets, and her laugh invited the crowd to cherish the moment. She reminisced about Adam West and what it was like to become Catwoman after Julie Newmar on the 1960’s Batman series.
Ms. Meriwether proves that it is talent that takes a person far in life. She discussed her methodology on perfecting the Catwoman meow and how she formed a Russian accent with no training. Her stories lit up the stage and substantiated the Eternal Con weekend.
