Looking to replace the hand-me-down sewing machine you’ve been using for years to craft your cosplays? If you’re anything like me, you’ve been dealing with temperamental machines for longer than you can handle, struggling with threading bobbins and growing tired of sifting through YouTube tutorials for your older-than-you sewing machine.

Luckily, Brother – known for their affordable sewing machines that are favorites among cosplayers – have created a machine that combines sewing and technology with a side of Star Wars that is perfect to help any cosplayer step up their costuming game.

The LB5000S is a computerized sewing and embroidery machine that has 80 built-in embroidery designs, 103 sewing stitches and 9 fonts. You can view embroidery designs on a 3.2″ color LCD touch screen display and upload more designs with a built in USB port, perfect for any cosplays with detailed patterning on fabrics.

Sewing features include 103 versatile built-in sewing stitches, needle up/down and variable speed controls and drop feed for creative free-motion sewing. Included are 7 quick-change sewing feet, with spring action zigzag, buttonhole, overcasting, monogramming, zipper, blind stitch and button sewing feet. The spring action zigzag foot is designed with a longer foot, and, combined with the longer 7-point feed dogs, help provide smoother fabric feeding.

Of course, the interchangeable Star Wars plates are a great addition for every fan, and the machine comes with ten downloadable Star Wars templates as well.

The machine is $499, but considering everything you can do with it, is a worthwhile investment for cosplayers who want to enter their costumes on an intermediate or master scale.
