Packs On! Ghostbusters 3 Confirmed

Dan Aykroyd gives us the thumbs up on a project we have been waiting over a decade for.

Today on Twitter Dan Aykroyd confirmed that we will see Ghostbusters 3 and that he will be helping produce it.

The last Ghostbusters film to grace theaters was in 1989 and left every fan waiting for the third movie. In the past few years we have heard the rumor of a new movie being written and had some of the original cast on board. In 2011, fans of Ghostbusters were rewarded with a videogame with the voice talents of Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson. If there was ever a better time to get the movie made it would have been right then since after years of strife between the original actors, they were all finally talking again.

Tragically, Harold Ramis passed away on February 24th, 2014 leaving the possibility of closing the trilogy up in the air since Ramis was an original cast member and writer of the original films.

With the tweet made by Aykroyd today it gives everyone great hope for the film and to finally bring a close to the franchise. There is no release date or even when filming will start, but we are all very excited to see where they will take the project now in homage to their late friend.
