Interview with Call to Cosplay Show-Runners
June 11, 2015Q&A with Miguel Santos.
What is your involvement in the show?
I developed Call to Cosplay with Executive Producer and creator George Chung and gave it the greenlight.
What does it take to put a show like this together?
It definitely takes a deep understanding of cosplaying and the community. Cosplayers are very passionate about their craft and we wanted to make sure we respected that.
What was your knowledge of the cosplay community before involvement in the show?
I never dressed up for Halloween, so suffice to say my knowledge of cosplay and the community was very limited!
What did you perceive of cosplay before and what do you perceive of it now?
Before the show, I honestly thought cosplay was a weird hobby for strange people. After producing Call to Cosplay, I gained so much respect and admiration for the cosplay community. I understand why people do it and why it brings them happiness.
If you would do a cosplay, what would you choose to make/wear?
I would love to be Raiden from Mortal Kombat or M. Bison from Street Fighter. Yes, I’m old school.
