Hayley Atwell Confirms 8 Episodes for “Agent Carter”
May 17, 2014The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to spread to the small screen.
What was supposed to be a one-shot has turned into an eight episode season, according to Hayley Atwell.
While there is no news about when Agent Carter will air, some suspect it will be during the Agents of SHIELD mid-season hiatus. Hayley Atwell will return as Agent Carter, a woman who has just lost the love of her life and struggles to adapt in a post-war world. Dominic Cooper will make his return as Howard Stark, hopefully in a recurring role. The actor is no stranger to the World War II era, having just wrapped up Fleming where he played Sir Ian Fleming, the man who created James Bond.
The Howling Commandos will also join, but only Dum Dum Dugan and Gabe Jones are hinted to join the show so far. As you may remember, Dum Dum Dugan (Neal McDonough) was the muscle of group while Gabe Jones (Derek Luke) acted as the linguist and interpreter. Other characters that are said to be included in the show are Betsy Ross, and the Falsworth siblings; Brian and Jacqueline Falsworth.
The official synopsis for the show is as follows:
It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.
