Ghostbusters Returns to IDW
March 18, 2015Back in June of 2014 I had the pleasure of sitting down with one of my all time favourite comic book writers, Erik Burnham from IDW. We talked about how he got into the comic book world, his advice to young comic writers, but mostly we spoke about his work on the (then) on-going, Ghostbusters series.
Sadly, shortly after the interview (I was still editing it!) IDW announced that the Ghostbusters on-going series would be coming to an end. Questions about whether IDW would still produce Ghostbusters content were quickly answered a month later when the company announced the 4 part crossover series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters, which released in October of 2014.
With Ghostbusters in the news recently with confirmation on the upcoming Ghostbusters film with an all female cast, IDW is back with more news for Ghostbusters fans when the announced the upcoming series, Ghostbusters: Get Real.
Not much is known about the story of this series but it seems to be a cross between IDW’s established Ghostbusters universe and the classic animated Ghostbusters series, The Real Ghostbusters.
IDW’s Ghostbusters veterans, Erik Burnham (writer) and Dan Schoening (artist) return to the ghost plagued New York for this anticipated series which is set to release the first of the four part series this June.
