Blizzard blows away their fans at Blizzcon this year with the first look at their new IP.

This weekend is Blizzcon, the time where fans of all things Blizzard come together to celebrate. We were expecting to see new additions to Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo and the like. What we weren’t prepared for was Overwatch, a 6v6 arena style game that has a beta which will start in 2015.

The trailer released shows a multitude of characters to choose from with their own abilities and play styles. We have a melee gorilla tank for those who love to smash, an assassin sniper for the ones who hide for the kill, and we even have a robot that turns into a turret for anyone who WANTS TO BE A ROBOT THAT TURNS INTO A TURRET.

I cannot express my excitement for a new IP from Blizard. As a long time player of Diablo, Warcraft and Starcraft, having another game to enjoy by Blizz will be a godsend.

One thing that came to mind with this game getting announced and its release coming quite soon is that how big of a contender will it be to games like Team Fortress 2. TF2 by Valve has been around for years and has a very dedicated player base surrounding it, but then again there has not been anything to challenge it over the years either. This could prompt Gaben to get into gear and give his fans the long awaited Team Fortress 2 they have been begging for.

Regardless, watch the trailer and the gameplay video below and get fired up for this game.
