Ace Comic Con Highlights

December 17, 2017 0 By EVA

Ace Comic Con took place last weekend from December 8-10 at the NYCB Live: Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. This unique convention is centered on creating a curated fan experience. This inaugural con brought together most of the Justice League cast to meet, sign and chat with fans at panels and events all weekend. Marvel’s Daredevil and Defenders Charlie Cox and Elodie Yung were on hand for the weekend. In addition, attendees could shop and enjoy photo op experiences with setups such as a Stranger Things room and the car from Supernatural. The convention was also live streamed for fans at home to watch.

Henry Cavill lead fans on a scavenger hunt to raise awareness for the charity Search for Hope. Winners of the hunt were able to attend a private Q&A with the Superman actor. He was joined on Sunday by his castmates, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa. The panel started a little late (was scheduled for 3pm) but as the actors weren’t done with their photo op and autograph sessions, it started closer to 4. Despite the tardy start, fans were delighted to listen to the cast banter.

We put tighter a short video of the convention (our first attempt at something like this…) and we also have included the videos from Ace Comic Con itself. Also, feel free to listen to our podcast with Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim, who was at the convention. We will also have another article coming out shortly with someone really cool we met at the convention. For more details about the convention, visit here, or, hop on to the Ace Universe website. The next convention takes place in Arizona at the Gila River Arena from January 13 – 15. The Arizona convention will feature a ton of Marvel actors, including Chris Evans, Stan Lee, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Holland, Hayley Atwell, Laura Harrier and more.

Ace certainly is a unique experience. While most cons are held in hotels or convention venues, this con opted for an arena. On the outer circle of the arena was artist alley. A trip down the escalator took fans to the photo op areas and show floor where they could shop to their hearts content. The show floor took up half of the arena space and the other was reserved for the main stage.
