First Image From Appleseed Alpha

The first image from the new movie by Shinji Aramaki based on the popular manga has been released.

Appleseed is one of my favorite animated movies to date and I am very happy to see another movie being made.

The movie is based on the manga series written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow. The manga follows the adventures of ESWAT members Deunan Knute and Briareos Hecatonchires in Olympus. Appleseed merges elements of the cyberpunk and mecha genres with a heavy dose of politics, philosophy, and sociology. It will focus on the early years of Deunan and Briareos as they search for Olympus.

If you are an anime or manga fan and love cyberpunk, you should check out the other two movies in the trilogy Appleseed and Appleseed: Ex Machina right away. Appleseed Alpha will be released this summer.
