Saturday Night Live Gets Some Super Sweet Treats

Have you ever watched a show where the food looked so good that you wanted some? How about all of the times that Saturday Night Live made up commercials for different fictional products like Colon Blow, Florence’s Dusty Muffins or Pete’s Famous Schweddy Balls?

When Alec Baldwin appeared for a Saturday Night Live skit playing a baker with some of his best selling Christmas treats, various kinds of balls, no one knew then that a company would take that concept and make it a reality, along with a couple other SNL skit favorites.

Earlier this year, SNL partnered with It’Sugar to bring a line of fictional products to life for fans all around the world to buy. If you want mints that come in a container that say, “Jane, you ignorant slut!” you can get them. Need some Colon Blow? They’ve got that, too.

I didn’t know what I was in for when the package of these treats arrived and I have to say, it made for some pretty corny (but hilarious) jokes. Pete’s Famous Schweddy Balls made for some great conversation while enjoying the snacks. The box contains 8 salty chocolate malt balls that are about the size of your palm. One treat is definitely more than enough to say the least, and they could cut down on the salt a little bit, but if you want a treat for a party or just want to laugh every time you reach for a Schweddy ball, these might be the treats for you.

The It’Sugar site is filled with all kinds of great things though, not just the SNL treats and other merchandise. If you were like me, chances are you left all the marshmallows in your bowl of Lucky Charms for last, getting the ‘healthy’ bits out of the way first to make way for a spoonful of sugar. It’Sugar offers Marshmallow Madness, and as one could guess, it’s 100% marshmallows and a big part of a completely unbalanced diet. Makes for a good treat when you have people over and only offer them that… not that I’ve ever done that…
