Get on Board with Star-Bored
April 8, 2015You’ll never be bored with Star-Bored, a new strategy RPG game that is looking to be funded via KickStarter.
In the wake of the First Galactic War, a vast and ponderous bureaucracy was established to maintain peace by enforcing strict codes of behaviour across a million worlds. The organisation quickly became a breeding ground for officious, power-hungry bureaucrats who sought to increase their own influence through ever more strict and complicated laws. In less than a thousand years one such person had gained so much influence that he took the title Emperor and renamed the Universal Government to the Bureaucratic Imperium.
In a more futuristic version of the popular Papers, Please, lead designer Michael Flynn hopes to find backers willing to help get Star-Bored – Adventures in a Bureaucratic Dystopia completed and out to the general public. They are asking for a modest £4000, and at time of writing, they were well on their way to getting their first £1000. Working with a small team out of Swansea, Wales who saw success with their first Kickstarter project called Fortune’s Tavern – The Fantasy Tavern Simulator, they decided to return to the crowdfunding platform in order to complete their latest project.

So what is the development team planning to do with the funds raised?
With their sights set on a December 2015 release date, the development team are looking to obtain the £4000 to develop a system with more advanced space combat, re-skin nearly all their ‘computer panel’ textures with HD variants, create custom sci-fi sound effects, and much more.
It is always great to see a development team who has had past success return to crowdfunding for further assistance, proving that while not all gaming Kickstarters succeed, some do and so well that the developers are able to come back again with a brand new game for everyone to enjoy.
